Heros, and The Forbidden.

Ever been in a place, and a time, that felt you were meant to be there for some reason? When most people see a flaming car on the side of the road, and no people standing around,  They just rubber neck and slow down traffic... There are a few, who would stop. And pull someone out of that burning car and save their life. why did they save a stranger at the risk of both their lives? I have heard stories, and witnessed the good in mankind. I have also heard some horror stories that i wish I hadn't heard.
The heroes, that may do the smallest things, or the biggest things... From letting you ahead of them in line at the store,  returning your wallet with all money and cards still inside, to giving you a jump start to get your car running, or pulling someone out of a burning building. It all makes a difference. A big one. It may not seem like much to one who gives it. A single "Have a nice day." or compliment on a shirt can give someone a total 180 on their day.
Think about it for a minute. One day, you may have just been awful starting out, you were late for work, car wouldn't start, fridge went out, stained your favorite shirt.. or whatever... So bad day? You think it couldn't get worse, and it does. You catch a cold or something. (ugh, this sucks.) You get to the store, your dog tired, and you got some cough syrup and some soup. The guy ahead has a cart full of crap and its the only lane open. He lets you go ahead.
O.o
He tells you he hopes you feel better soon, and get some rest with a friendly smile.
Suddenly the day didn't seem so bad.

I'm talking today's mask less heroes. (i consider them in my book anyway) Those people who have restored faith in humanity by acts of kindness.

Back to the car rescue. Help with a changing a tire, sure. Risking life? I don't know. I cant say i would or wouldn't do something. maybe hope someone else would.
I don't know how I would react in that situation, but I would hope I would do the right thing and at least try. I have heard of people performing seemingly impossible feats and saved lives in so doing. This is amazing- spit-second decision, adrenaline rush, near-death experience...
Very few people have felt the cold grip of death at their throat, and release when a hero saves them from the clutches of the reaper. When a mother's child is at risk, her strength can be multiplied exponentially, and saving their child.

I'm not saying we should all run into a flaming apartment building to be heroes, the firefighters do that with proper gear to do so. But sometimes, they wont be there in time. Sometimes life will depend on that one person who, in a split second decision decides they would rather save that person, even if it costs their own life, and runs inside for the rescue.
Heroes man. Love those Heroes.
We know the Heroes in comics and movies with masks and capes. We seem to forget everyone has something to offer in sense of being a hero.
Listen to someones story. Let someone vent a little. Get the item on the top shelf for the elderly woman on the scooter. Give accurate directions, and helpful tips to people on topics you know about. Give a stranger some coupons.
Be nice to people. Be polite.
What goes around comes around, treat people as you would have them treat you.

Of course, lets not forget about the other known heroes-
Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs and our Military Personnel.
The Nurses and Doctors, Teachers and Farmers.
Heroes are here, and they aren't going anywhere.

I would like to be one to deliver justice to those who deserve it. Like Batman, or Kickass.
Patrol the streets at night and beat down criminals and dump them at the police station. It would be cool, and very fulfilling to having done this.

We already know criminals do not follow the rules, why do "they" think placing more laws will stop them? "Oh, snap! Law passed we cant have drugs! We better get rid of them..."
Hell no. They find a way to get it to their customers and make their $. Strange how the two biggest money-making things are dubbed as "illegal". Drugs, and prostitution. They both make BANK. But isn't a profession, because you cant be taxed on it? Walter White cant claim his multi millions of hard-earned meth money because "you know who" cant tax it. Its bullshit, really. I work for my money damn it, who are you to say I cant keep what i earned, and who are you to decide how much you make, but i cant decide how much I make?
Sounds corrupt to me.
Either way, making laws against it will not get rid of anything. Posting a "gun free" zone sign will not prevent a guy with a gun to walk in and shoot, knowingly, unarmed people. maybe say "fuck it. Give 'em all guns. Lets let drugs and prostitution be legal, and tax all the hell out of it and see how that goes!" (maybe crossing a line)
Supply and demand.
If you flood the market with it, it is cheap, and easily obtainable, and pinch the supply for it, its hard to find and can be charged a lot for what you have.
We as people are not always the "rule abiding citizens" they think we are. As we were younger, we wanted what we couldn't have. Rebellion. Drinking and smoking at 16, drinking at 18, and its all legal at 21, so its no fun anymore.
As humans, we are always drawn to the "forbidden". Forbid it, it will be our utmost desire.
Realize this, people... Honestly...

Acting

I brought up acting today, and I found out many people do not know the differences between acting in theatre, and acting in films.
(At first, I was surprised, but then remembered not everyone has the same interests as i do, and may really not know.)

So I would like to make some interesting points, similarities and differences between the two.
(just to clarify: I do not know EVERYTHING on the matter, I'm just stating these things as things I notice. All matter of opinion.)

Theatre acting- you stand on a stage and do your scene, live in front of an audience. Your voice must carry enough to reach the back row, and be heard clearly. This would include music, if the play has any. Your make up (if any) is done to bring out features from a distance- sometimes the same actor plays multiple parts in a play. The actions and emotions also need to be expressed big enough to, again, be noticed from the back row, as well as the first. If you have a sad scene, and you cry real tears on cue, it doesn't really help. The person in the back row won't be able to see them and say "wow! What a talented actor!" Maybe someone in the first row, but they most likely wont see it unless it is messing up the stage make up.  I am in no way saying its so easy, you can remember a few lines, wave your arms a bit and yell at your fellow actors like Gilbert Godfrey, and you will be a sensation.
Not at all. These actors and actresses remember full scripts of all characters of theirs (and sometimes the entire script in general) With Visual and audio ques, too. Once the play starts, there's no "When your ready" its now, or never. Costume changes between scenes and scene switches in most plays... And if you forget a line?! Oh, its embarrassing! Even with hours and hours of rehearsals, they are human, and they have an occasional brain fart. Laughing when an actor says "line" is never appreciated. It only makes them even more nervous.

I'm not saying Theatre actors is easier than film, or vice verse.

With film, You are on scene with camera crew, lights, and possibly several other people looking at you, expecting you to, make them believe you are who your acting to be. If your character is a Greek God, the director better get chills down his spine with your face, and line delivery.
Its mostly in the eyes. If you can make a believer out of the director and crew, you have the audience (in sense) Make up is used differently, and sometimes in unnoticeable to the eye. Music is not an issue in most cases, because it can be added in later for dramatic effect or any thing else the scene may require. Being able to cry on cue will be a good thing in film, because the camera can be in your face, and getting those real tears streaming down your cheek. The audience feels closer to you when the camera has such a close shot. Audio, you can whisper, and the microphone will pick it up. (In some cases, it will pick up a cell phone vibrating on set. If it ruins a shot, it could mean trouble.) You can do the same scene as many times as it takes until you get it right. If you forget a line, it isn't a big deal, just try it again, and it will be edited with the best takes to make the best production as possible.

When people ask me who's my favorite actor, I tell them Tom Hanks. Before you ask yourself "Why Tom Hanks?" Look at his films he has done, look at the man's range of talent.
In "Big" I really believed he was a kid who grew up over night. Saving Private Ryan, total opposite. Money Pit, Terminal, Cast Away, Toy Story- I believed EVERY role he played. He truly is an amazing actor who deserves much more credit than he gets. Two other men I respect as talented actors; one you know from Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston. The range- POLAR OPPOSITE. From dorky little Hal, to "I AM the danger" Walter White. I laughed with Hal, I feared Walter. Loved them both. From what I have seen on his imdb, hes got a great work ethic. And it shows.
The other Actor i respect is Brian Krause. A-Freaking-Mazing. (He plays Leo in the Charmed Series) He has a playful sense to him, and when its time to cry- Oh sh*t, do I feel the need to do it. (Spoiler) When he cries over Piper's death- :'( I saw his face, and i break into tears with him. (Even though Prue steals the moment from him and sends him away again... ugh. I don't like Her at all. Snobby actress. :P)
And according to HIS imdb, he stays busy. VERY busy. His work ethic it a little bit higher than Cranston's, and I respect him for it. These guys are all extremely talented.

Some people seem to have only a few characters they do with different names... like Pauly Shore. He really only played himself, with a different name. I enjoy his films, but at some points it seems as though the scripts were written with him in mind to play the part.
Another person with a similar trait (I'm gonna get hate for this one, always do) Adam Sandler. His movies are funny, but its like watching 3 versions of him than the one. so, hes like 3 Pauly Shores in one person. :/ . (Hate Initiated)
Adam's characters seems to be the same ones who boosted his career upward. He has 3 characters as i said before, Billy Madison- the child-like voice, immaturity ya, ya, ya. Happy Gilmore- Screaming and other loud things he does, and Himself. Adam. That's just him talking, mostly what you see in Big Daddy, until its screaming time, then its Happy Gilmore.
I still respect Adam Sandler. He works hard and has some good material and occasional excellent dialogue delivery. I still like most of his movies and comedy. Just not an everyday-type of thing for me is all.
A lot of actors have, what I refer to as, an "Acting Tick"- Its something the actor does, when they are acting that may not be noticed by anyone except an overly observant few. These ticks can occur after the take, some actors look directly at the camera as the director says "cut". The best way to explain ticks is to give some examples of ones I have seen.
1. "Look of Approval"
This happens sometimes with an actor I have worked with in the past, (to clarify, I considered myself to be this person's personal director, because they respond to my direction better than the directors') After cut, They would look directly at me as if to say "Did I do good?" Some times they would even ask me, and I had to wait from direction from the director so I could translate it into "Human" (The director on this project was a bit of an arrogant prick and his idea of directing was "do it better".)
2."Repetitive-Over-Alibiing"
This one can get bad, especially when editing, and having to re-record audio segments for some reason (ADR) This happens frequently with newer actors, using other words along with the scripted dialogue to sound more natural, but starts sounding drawn out, and very repetitive. Kind of like when a ditsy high school girl would say "like" for every other word? Like that, but less repetitive. "stalling words" like uhh, um, like... get repeated more often when they are UN scripted. In one case, the actor kept saying "Straight up", which was only scripted once, in the beginning in the block of dialogue, but they added it two more times, and in some takes, just said "Straight." For an audio issue, I had to re-record his line according to the cut used to fit and look right, and it took longer than needed because the line was diluted in the cut. (you may wonder why i didn't use a different take, the reason was continuity-wise, it was the best one.) Even with the audio matching it still needed to be re-cut to match perfectly, which just needed a quick reaction shot of the dialogue, and it worked out all right.
Another example would be with a different actor, saying "You know" or "You think" in front of the dialogue, which to me, just gets bothersome to a point.
3."Rapid Blinking"
I saw it in a movie, or a show, when the actress noticed the newscaster blinking a lot, she knew it was a lie. I haven't seen this one on anyone else but myself. My eyes must get dry or something when I'm acting, because i blink like I'm fanning the crew down on set with my eyelashes. No kidding.
4. "Reused Faces"
I do this one too. My lip makes a weird move depending on the emotion trying to express. Concerned it curls up like Elvis if he bit his other lip. One actor's eyes would widen, look to the side, and their mouth would be closed tight. Almost like a "I hope no one heard that fart." face. These faces happen so often, its like the whole "Pauly Shore" thing already.

No one is perfect, and I know for damn sure I'm not perfect, but when I do any acting, I try to put myself as that character, and it is happening to me. Not character, me. See things from his POV, with his personality, and do it. If I make an ass of myself, at least it was recorded, and can be added to a blooper reel later.
Sometimes, the mood just doesn't feel right, and I cannot get into that mindset i need to be.
In one case, I needed to be scared, tired, single father English professor. Another actor/crew member was asking me questions about another project (a comedy series) which distracted me from the one being filmed.

I think I'll stick to what I know for now, and tread in the dangerous waters when the opportunity comes up. Writing, script doctoring, 3D modeling, and special effects.
That's my comfort zone.

Offended?! Me?!

I was approached today by a young man, who told me he heard a joke in class, and thought I would find it amusing. Here it is:
"Hey man, wanna hear something funny?"
"Sure."
"Women's Rights."

At first, after hearing the punchline, I was expecting something more, so I held any laughter.
Apparently, that was the joke, and the impression that maybe I just heard him wrong, and he may have meant it as Women are always right, ( they are, btw ;) ) But no. It was a direct hit to women's rights.

I didn't laugh, but i did wonder. Who told him this joke, and how did it get a laugh in a classroom.
So, the conclusion I gathered was the guy who first said the joke has no respect from women, probably a pig, the guy who sees women as another sexual conquest than the future mother of children, someones daughter, or sister... He is probably the guy who didn't grow up around women at all, and his dad is the type who claims "the woman's place is in the kitchen".
The ones who laughed, could also be similar types, or just laughed because they wanted to be accepted. I think my face when he said the punchline 2 more times, was enough to tell him I didn't find it funny at all. There is nothing funny about women's rights.
I wanted to ask him, if he thinks his mother's rights to work the same job and wage as a man, or right to vote was funny in any way. How about his girlfriend?

I am not to fond of sexist remarks like that. Sometimes, a racist or sexist joke can be pretty funny, especially when it can be ironically true.

As a young boy, teenager, and even in early adulthood, i suppose, I did see women in a different way. I wanted to- well, you know. Just like any other teenager.
I saw women as objects of lust, and didn't appreciate them as people with feelings.

Until one occasion, I used a girl. I was straightened up by my stepmother QUICK. Her way of bashing me upside the head with respecting women was seemingly cruel at the time, but it is exactly what I needed. I was pissed, hated her for what she said, how she handled things with the girl-
And of course, got a good (mellow) talking to from my dad about it, and he has always told me "It's not what you say, but how you say it."- (Which are words I live by daily now, and it helps me in my writings)
He explained to me that she was a daughter, a sister, etc- and asked how I would feel if someone took advantage of my sister like that? My first thought was to beat the living piss out of them, and throw them to the crocks. It clicked.
I was a scumbag.
I changed. I have much more respect for women now than I ever had.
Women, carry their man's child for nine months, pushes it out, and nurtures it.
Every man who has a daughter - Daddy is the first man to ever hold her (aside from the doctor anyway) And Daddy will be the one man who will never break your heart, and beat any man who does. He will watch his daughter become a woman, find love with a good man, and he will give her away at her wedding. Daddy's little girl. She is a wife to a good man, and may give him children soon. Maybe even a daughter of his own, who he to, will give away at her wedding.

I am thankful for all the women in my life, and I am glad they have the rights they deserve, and are seen as equals.
I am glad I am not a sexist prick.

I Believe.

Maybe its the recent episodes of X-Files talking, but I feel as though I need to get this out in the open.

I believe in the paranormal, ESP, Alien life forms, and super human abilities.
By paranormal, I mean Ghosts, werewolves vampires, etc- and by ESP, I mean psychological phenomenon, reading minds, connections with the dead, fore sight, etc-

I have never seen any of these things before, but a ghost. Once.
It makes me wonder about the after life- when it comes to ghosts, anyway. How is it your physical self be portrayed as an almost invisible being like a projection or a hologram? Its spooky.
A co worker of mine's mother-in-law passed away recently, to whom she was close to. After the funeral, they felt her presence in the house. They also told me that she saw condensation on half of her bedroom window, and wanted my opinion.
This is a fun game for me.
I can devise a logical explanation for it, like the difference in temperatures of the glass, like an air vent blowing warm air onto the glass cooled from outside.
Or I can simply say "Ghost". I asked her if she wanted the logical explanation, or what I really think it could be. They wanted to hear both.
Funny thing was, they wanted to believe it was her mother-in-law's spirit. Every piece of logic I threw in the way was shot down, because, the heater was broken, and the air vent was on the other side of the room, and it hasn't rained in weeks.
Second thing I was informed of was their son slept o the couch, and felt someone pull his blanket over his feet. Instantly shot up, and no one was there.
I said to my co-worker, that if this is the only time it happens, and you felt the same way with this phenomena as you did around your mother-in-law, it was most likely her. Saying her good-byes.
They smiled, and almost went to tears in hearing this.
Their family believes in spirits walking among us, even if it is a short time.

Creatures like werewolves and vampires, can be difficult to believe. Its a long shot for me, but I'm still open to it. It seems unlikely, but mutations happen all the time. Not at as fast as it is portrayed, but still. I'm sort of illiterate on this particular part of paranormal, partly because of the movies like twilight, making me want to forget the possibility of a person who will drink my blood and turn me into a human looking mosquito. I have heard of people drinking blood, and others bathing in it to try to stay young.
Zombies though, I think still could have a slight potential.
Voodoo Zombies would be a load of crap unless they come from the morgue. No Zombie, Voodoo or viral, or whatever cannot break through a casket, and dig 6 feet up through dirt, and possibly roots. The bodies that are buried are rigid, and already begun the decaying process. the muscles would not be able to allow the zombie to move, much less dig, walk, or even bite. Rising from the grave in any way is logically impossible. A viral zombie, is different. So far the most accurate portrayal of a zombie Apocalypse id 28 days and 28 weeks later. Rage virus. Infects the still living body and drives them insane with rage (hence, the RAGE virus) transmitted through bodily fluids. Rabies seems to be the closest relative to this fictional virus, but a shorter life span, and longer to find out your infected.
It is scary to think if someone spliced rabies with the flu, that's all it will take to exterminate the human race.

ESP and psychological phenomenon-
It has been proven in many studies that we only use a small portion of our brains, like 10%. What the hell is the other 90% for? We have a lot of growing room there, and I'm thinking some of us have already "unlocked" more of our brains. Those few can somewhat read minds, or simply empathize with others. People like me, I can feel strong emotions from others. I sense anger and joy mostly. I don't need to see people for those, i just feel it. Like in an amusement park, I can walk around, and not ride anything, and still have a great time, just by being around people who are having a good time- Which is fantastic! Other places like a crowded store, there are too many emotions, I cannot process them, and I get overwhelmed and need to find some solitude, like a bathroom stall or changing room. It doesn't happen often thank goodness. Lately I think I'm either reading peoples minds, or telling others what to do/think/feel on a psychological level. Not mind control, but planting an idea and let it go from there.
I posted something about kids being f'd up, then i see something about the same topic from a celeb. Odd. It happened again with another post with a friend who has not read my blogs. I tried a little test today at work. I tried to persuade a co-worker to make me some ice cream, either they ignored it, or it just didn't work. No big deal, working process anyway.
Telekinesis is real. Haven't seen it first hand, but spoken to someone who has done it. Lots of energy is needed to do such a thing. There is a movie where 3 guys get that ability, and one goes nuts, but i forget the name of it. They were able to use it to fly, in a sense.
I have also seen similar abilities used to cleanse a home from a negative manifestation. First hand. Quite an experience to witness.

Aliens. I mean, come on. Look into the sky at night. Look at all those stars. Those could ALL be Suns for other planets. Several planets could be around a single star. We have 10 (last i heard anyway planet X has been discovered on a vertical orbit instead of horizontal like the rest of the planets. But being in space, how can it be decided which way is which?) So billions of stars, and potentially even more billions of planets AND moons. I refuse to believe that with all those planets and moons, there is no other life form on some of those planets. Even a sentient species, which may or may not have discovered interstellar travel. Some of them may have visited Earth, and we never knew (or the government covered it up in area 51, whichever you want to believe) It is possible they look similar to us, or even identical but such small things we see it as a minor deformity. Or, we could have been observed and tested on from the start. Another species could have seen the birth of humanity and found it interesting to watch us mature as a species. It could be, we could be an experiment from an alien species. The dinosaurs were first, and something killed them right? Experiment failure. We ALSO could have been vowed as the most violent species in the Milky Way, because our unsatisfiable urge to kill, and our other violent natures. But lucky to the Galaxy we are still early in our space experiments, and cannot send life past a certain points. Our speed for it is slow, and our weapons are primitive. Violent among ourselves and things we do not understand. Kill it, then find out what it was. Any alien set foot on Earth would almost certainly be suicide. "Let the humans destroy themselves, we do not need to interfere." Could be a galactical law by now, seeing our violence and greed. Our thirst for blood, hunger for wealth, and primal urge to destroy things we fear, because we don't understand.
In Avatar the Na'vi (i think that's right) say "I see you" Their way of love, it means more than the words- at least to me. "I see you", "I understand you. I recognize your existence, and do not shame you. For any pain I cause you, you have my deepest sympathy, and I am grateful for your sacrifices. Your spirit will live on."
That's how I mean it when I say "I see you" (unless I'm playing peek-a-boo)

It is a Blurrrrrr.....

Some things I'd like to rant about today.
My back hurts, and I'm just in a bad mood about that mixed with work.
When I move, it hurts. It was busy.
I get that people get hungry and want a hot meal, but why not go to the grocery store that's across the street and get a week's worth of food for the $30 you just spent on burgers and other greasy junk. I am not a health nut. FAAAR from that. I love to grab a burger or some tacos now and then. But I hate how i feel after eating it. Tired, and kind of a "fake" full. After eating a big plate of homemade spaghetti, I'm full. Or as I call it "Fat and Happy" With fast food, i feel "Fat and sad" or bloated.

So, yeah. As for working there, I hate it. Fast food employees work too hard and get so little money and appreciation. It is pretty crappy to me when I hear the front workers complain about how little tips they get. At least you GET tips. I work back here making that order with 7 or 8 items on it; prep, cook, bag, and follow all regulations and procedures in attempts to finish it in under 2 minutes, and you filled a few cups and bring it to them. And you complain about that. You bring cash home for bringing out one order that had 7-8 things on it. Why do you get the tip? What is my motivation for busting my ass to help you get a tip? If you shared tips with me, okay. Ill do my (better) best. I have no motivation here. Why should I care? I don't see any extra money no matter how hard I work. The only thing I am rewarded with is a "Thank You" and a few more hours in which to work my ass off. Sorry man, I can't remember the last time I could pay rent with a "Thank You". If I had it my way, I'd shut fast food down entirely.

As I said, I like it sometimes. But others abuse it's convenience. And treat the employees like snot, who get paid almost nothing anyway. Obviously, It wasn't intended to be a career, yet several have turned it into one. Frankly, being up the fast food ladder isn't impressive to me in the least. Your not cooking anymore, and you have an office, and boss other people around, and get paid to do it. You didn't know what to do with your life, so you decided to keep working fast food, and maybe something will come up. Now it has become your career. Congrats. Anyway, with being paid so little and so unmotivated to even continue working there, i have to keep reminding myself why I am there. Then comes the next debate...

According to this state, if I have A job, I am ineligible for cash benefits. Cannot get it. Even if i need $1000 a month and I'm only bringing in $10. They don't give a rats ass. They just give me 600 in FS. Uh, no... I gotta pay rent, so i can have a fridge to put the 600 worth of food in... right? My best guess is that they don't take into account every expense. They find unexpendable expenses to be expendable. Like gas and insurance for the car- "We don't count that" -_- "Wth. Really?" Idiots are in charge (no surprise there)- Now, next tangent-

Why is it the jack-offs in the 1% have all the money, and have us work to death to get them MORE money? So the lower and middle class, are so VERY close in income rates. Upper class don't do to much better than that.
I'm thinking rather sinisterly on this. If Mr. 1% didn't have his $, wth would he do? Cant control me. If I have no $ but he has it all, he has no power over me-
It has been discussed to cut government spending. Cut the spending in the politicians sucking up 90+% of the nations wealth.

If I were to run for president, here is what I would start off with:
1.- Politicians will receive a 50% pay cut until debts to ALL other countries are paid in FULL.-Pres included. The Pol's wouldn't go for it, but according to a political rule: "If neither side likes it, it's good" I'm sure it would be agreed, they wouldn't be happy with that.
2. As pres, I give up an additional 25% of yearly wage and other pays back to the government for military personnel, schools across the country, and other officials who are over-worked, underpaid, and unappreciated.

I don't know a lot about politics, but I do have a younger sister who LOVES to argue. So arguing with brats in suits should be a cakewalk.

One of the last things I would like to say is this:
Watch what you say in front of your kids, people. They soak up what you say like a sponge. If you know you will be saying something messed up, tell them what is okay to repeat, and what is not. Like swear words. My oldest knows those are "Daddy Words" And he will NOT say them. Even if he hears me say them, he reminds me, and his Momma, "Those are Daddy words. We don't say Daddy words, because they're not good."
I agree. I really should watch my language better around them.

Vote: Hollier-
Man of His Word.

Kids Today

I have come to realize something, and it disturbs me on a level I have not felt in a LONG TIME.
I think I know why kids today, and/or teenagers are monsters.
Parents. It is up to us to teach our kids right and wrong, and among that is respecting their elders.

We see the teens with pants hanging off their asses, and talking about "fuckin' some hoes" and being proud of "taping" over 20 "fine ass bitches"...

That's just a taste of what i know of this. And it sucks. Of course I find it offensive, but it isn't my job to correct their ignorance when they don't realize it is wrong.

Adults my age (most of us) grew up getting spankings, yelled at, mouth washed out, or an occasional pop on the cheek to be corrected. I was taught to respect my elders, "Yes sir, no sir, yes maim, no maim" were to be used at ALL TIMES. I was taught to respect women as human beings with feelings. The mothers of a new generation, sisters, and daughters. I was taught to see the beauty within of anyone, and to respect them, and chivalry. You remember that? Holding doors open, puling chairs out? Romance her without expecting to get some action in return.

Jeeze, how this has changed. The good guys who are not expecting anything for holding open a door for a lady gets weird looks and tossed in the friend zone. Ladies want to find a good guy, but fail to realize the good guys are already placed in the friend zone. Those guys are there for you when your a-hole boyfriend dumps you harder than yesterday's trash. Wake up ladies, don't crawl into the sack with a guy you just started dating. Hes only after one thing, and you know what it is. Not your guy friends. they just want to spend time with you. Watch sappy romance movies, and have lunch with you, or split some Hagan-das with you when your feeling down so you don't feel as bad as you would when you ate it all on your own. Strangely enough, you never hear him talking about a girlfriend, or any girl for that matter. Always single, waiting for the right one to wake up and notice that the search for Mr. Right has been over the day you two met.

I respect women, and my elders, as well as anyone else I encounter. I prefer to ask the little elderly lady in the scooter at the store if she needs a hand, rather than watch her struggle, and walk away or laugh about it. The "Thank you" is all I ever want from anyone I do something for. "your welcome! Have a great day!" Is typically my response. I get commented often on how polite and considerate I am. Such a gentleman, and a kind-hearted person all-together. I don't like to toot my own horn, but it's true. I hate being mean to people unless they wrong me.
Unfortunately, being a good person and considerate of other people comes off as a weakness to everyone else. People see me as someone to take advantage of and discriminate against, because a nice guy is less likely to retaliate than the typical douche bag. I have been screwed over for being the nice, considerate and non-controversial type. Not really one to complain unless it is just THAT BAD.

When i first came to AZ, I had satellite TV, I requested to the Apt for it to be hooked up, and after a month of TV-less arguing with them over the matter, I said "fuck this, whatever" and canceled the service. To do that, I had to pay the remainder of what was left on the contract, and return the equipment to them on my own dime. This cost me 3 or 4 hundred dollars- (and I argued with the satellite company about that too, and again, i said "fuck it". Then, wouldn't you know, the next month a new neighbor comes in (not intended to be racial, but they were Mexican) and they had a satellite hooked up.
I was mad, then i saw more, and MORE satellites set up. Today, their are about 15-20 sat. dishes set up on our apt block alone. Now I'm furious and irritated. Lets also not forget how they will do promise to pays and what not for others, but when it comes to us, they don't answer the phones, and hit us with late charges for not paying rent by the 3rd, when that was a Sunday, and they closed early on Saturday, and check doesn't come in until the weekday on or after the 3rd. The maintenance man shows up forever after we call them, and they tell me "that's normal" and leave. They don't tell us when we have packages in the office when we call (when they answer) and do nothing about idiots parking in the emergency lane or in two spots when we call about it.
The school has dicked me out of LOTS of money too. I was told i would have help finding a place for me and my family (BS) and finding a job in my field (BS). The address i got for the school was the wrong one... I tried to have everything close- my job, school, and home. I tried so hard to make that happen, but i had the wrong address for the school, and the first apt complex would not let us in with out proof of a job. It was Friday, 530 when i first got to the job location. I wouldn't be confirmed to have a job until Monday. So they expected me, my wife and 1 1/2 y/o son to sleep in the car for the weekend. Thankfully, our family helped us pay for a motel, but even then, we couldn't stay in that apt anyway so we found one close to school and it costs an arm an a leg. Water, and rent is constantly going up, and quality keeps going down. As for the education i have gotten, I feel as though I haven't learned enough. Some of these instructors do not know enough to teach what we need to know to strive in the industry. Like several things weren't covered because the instructors didn't know how to do it. The biggest jerks that were my instructors were ironically the most help full. I hated them, but i respected them. And still do. I would pay to be further instructed by those guys. Other than that, its been a waste of money and time. Even according to some of my classmates, its the same story, they don't feel like they got their money's worth in education. Some knew what they were doing more than the instructors. They just needed the degree.
My "nice guy routine" is what i was taught to be. I was raised damn good if I may say so. I was spanked, and all that other stuff that is now considered "child abuse", and I never set foot in prison, didn't join a gang, i respect women and my elders, and work hard to support my family and pay my taxes. As for doing that, some people make it seem like it is an awful thing to do. I get punished for doing the right thing. (How dare you feed your family?! What a monster!) I may sound conceded, but I feel as though I am a model citizen.
Ask prisoners if they were spanked. Ask "gangstas" if they were spanked. My best guess will be no. They weren't. Spanking does not make the child become a little shit. What makes them a little shit is the fear to discipline them. They understand the social status you want to keep. They don't want cps to be called on them for fussing, or spanking you in public, or hell, even for not doing anything.
Kid cries, "I wanna cookie, I wanna cookie!!" first, it is supposed to be "May I have a cookie please?" Second, No. Most parents will hear nothing but crying until they get their way. Some will pass out before they get it.
You know, its lose lose for parents when our kids flip a bitch in the store over a cookie. They know- if you discipline them, cps gets called, do nothing, cps gets called. So what ends up happening to shut them up? You give them a cookie. Then they understand it even more, if you don't give them the cookie, your depriving them of food, and ... cps again. Kids win, parents lose. People call cps for no reason all the time. I think you shouldn't be able to be taken seriously by cps unless you have kids of your own. If they do, they would understand much more about how to handle a kid throwing a tantrum. Until then, keep you childless self out of my parenting business. The tantrum throwing has infected itself into kids, teens and adults, sadly enough to say. If you don't get your way, get mad and throw a hissy-fit. Anyone not wanting to listen to you bitch about it will give it to you, or try to make a weak-ass compromise. A good example: O-care, and the debt ceiling incident. Gov shut down, and national parks closed until republic said "okay, okay, okay! Shut up already! Here's your O-Care and ceiling raised!!" I can see him on the floor kicking and screaming like a 4 year-old for this. And they gave in.
We keep giving in, the "child" knows what they have to do to get what they want. Which is MUCH easier than working for it.
I illustrated this to my oldest son. I showed him what he looked like throwing a fit about something petty. "waaaa, i don't wanna pickup my toys!" He throws himself to the floor, tears streaming down his face, kicking, screaming, the whole 9. What did I do you want to know?
I dropped to the floor, and mimicked every move. Every "Waaa" every kick, and throw of a toy. Only difference was instead of crying about toys, "Waaaaa! I want a RAISE!!! I want it NOOOWW!! I want it- I want it- I want it! AAAAAAHHH!" (granted- he didn't do it again for a LOOONG time.)
Can you imagine a coworker doing that at work in front of the boss?
Yeah. I can.
But the boss would typically say "Wow. That was pitiful. Your fired."
It'll happen unless we correct our kids before that happen- oh, wait. Didn't McDonald's employees go on strike until they get $15 an hour?
Yep. It has already begun. The future adults will be whiny, spoiled little brats because we were to scared to pop their buts.
I stand for corporal punishment. Always will. I do not beat my kids, I love them. I would never do anything to hurt them in any way. But I will discipline them, and correct them. I will not let my children be corrupt in thinking the only way to get what you want is to cry about it. They will most likely end up in jail unless they get the discipline they need, when they need it, only.

The Dollar- Where it should be.

If I go to a bank, and borrow a bunch of money with out their permission, and having no intention to fully reimburse them, it is called robbery.

But when the government borrows MY money without MY permission, while having no intention of fully reimbursing me, it's called taxes.

I understand the taxes pay for stuff like police, firefighters, paramedics, and schools, and several other city/state expenses.
That I don't have a problem with.

My biggest problem is the ones who make decisions for me, when it isn't my choice anyway, getting paid six figures a year.

How I see it is, I'm paying them to make decisions based on the citizen's behalf so we don't have to.
They make almost 15 times more than i do in a year, and I doubt they earn it.
A high school teacher on average earns just 5 times more than I do. I am most certain a high school teacher has to work MUCH harder than any politician getting paid 10 times more them.
A police officer makes about the same as a teacher, and has a bigger chance of not coming home at night. Putting your life on the line to protect people apparently isn't worth it when it comes to being wealthy. I'm not implying that being an officer, teacher or doctor is a bad profession, and I'm not trying to imply you cannot live quite comfortably and retire with quite a nest egg. I'm just saying these professions require massive skills, which can only be received with training courses and schooling, which costs money, so you take out loans to cover it, and then need to work harder to pay that loan off AND cover your bills. Its bullshit, really.
I say we cut the salary of the "fat cats" getting paid for saying "yay" or "nay", and increase the salaries for those who deserve it. Like the armed forces... Law enforcement, teachers, fire fighters, paramedics- These people go through hell just for the sake of the citizens, and all they get is a mid-5 figure salary a year?! I know plenty of those who were in the armed forces, (thank you for your services, by the way), I am related to law enforcement officers, and know, AND am related to multiple EMTs, as well as know multiple teachers of elementary and high school teachers...

These people are so under appreciated, and it makes me SICK.
I have a small petty job, I flip hamburgers and make less than 12,000 a year. I get burns, big orders, go hours without eating or going to the bathroom.
Compared to the jobs above I have no reason to complain. Lives are not in my hands. I know I will go home to my family tonight after work. Stress stays at work, and that's awesome.

I still feel under appreciated for what i have to do for how much i make, but i know people risk their lives to ensure I can keep mine. I want to make more money than i do, but asking for 15 an hour is ridiculous. 9 or 10 is more than acceptable to me for my job. I would like to see some commission on sales as well. This way, I am more motivated for the store to succeed, and will be more concerned with my performance than i already am.

Point I want to make, if it isn't made obvious already, Take the money from the people who don't deserve it and give it to those who do deserve it.
