Religous-Thoughts

Interesting convo today with a friend between classes.
Sparked a few thing in my mind, basically re-confirmed theories of de-evolution... But more than that got me thinking about religion again.

I'm not sure of anything. Science explains damn near everything that we know of- except religion... Actually in some cases it does. Science has proven religion wrong many times, but people still believe what they want to believe. I prefer to understand where someone comes from with these views before i tell them i think they are wrong. After hearing the arguments, (as well as moments of thought) I see where he comes from on these views- One segment was Of cloning and the clone's inability to have a soul. Physical cloning of anything can be done- has been done... as far as the soul, in some's opinion, is non-existant.
Personally i think there is a life-force with in us, or a spirit-form of some sort. If there weren't their wouldn't be ghosts. Don't think ghosts are real? Come face to face with one in your home, then you will believe it. Their is that gut feeling as you sit in silence, reading a book, doing homework, or whatever, and you hear something moving in the kitchen... Or you live on your own and your keys weren't where you left them? Your electronics go wacko sometimes, or the lights flicker for unexplained reasons...
Ghosts y'all.
Spirits still here for whatever reason they have, quite possibly still in denial of being dead.
Where do the rest go? The ones that don't stick around and scare us as we sit on the crapper? (that's more of a favor in some cases, actually.)
Scientifically cannot be said. They just "go away". Where? Space? Another planet? Another body? (re-incarnation) just melt away into nothing, so in a sense, would be death of the dead? Then where does THAT go?
According to religions, their is the perfect place, heaven, and the flaming pits of despair to pay for all wrongs committed. Apparently, obey your religion, and be good, you will live blissfuly in heaven. Wait... Liv Futurama e? Not the best word for that, but you know what I mean.
Almost every religion has the same things in it...

An all-mighty being that created us in his image.
A book of relatable stories providing insight on our own lives and
a list of rules that we must follow to spend the rest of eternity in Bliss, or disobey and remain in torture for the rest of existence.
And a living leader of some sort.

As raised catholic, I remember jesus to be pictured as a white man that some-what resembled my father. As of recently, i find that the place where Jesus was born and raised to be the close to where the islam/indians are- I don't know exactly, but they are darker-complected people. (which i have no problems with, by the way) And the evolution FACT- shows the earliest homo sapiens were discovered in africa, meaning that's where we started. All as african natives. So Adam and Eve? Not genetically correct, and jesus was depicted wrong. God created us in his image... He would be dark-complected. Strange enough, how Space is dark too, right? Could it be that Space itself could be the all-knowing creator? (hit this theory with the episode Bender became God to micro people from a meteor) It could very well be... Or possible it could just be something to scare people into being good boys and girls.
Before you get all pissed off about that statement...
Religion may not all be true, but it has a way of giving hope and strength to those who need it. I hear the term "Give it to God" all the time, and I can understand the concern for my well being, but honsetly it annoys me. Not that im not a religous type or anything, its just that the religion i beleive isnt founded yet.
Now, Its awesome to have something to beleive in, and something to look forward to after death, but it doesnt mean that its true. Some people need a bit of faith to get through their day, and that is what all of us do need. Faith. It may not be in religion, but faith in something to look forward to. It may be a Movie you cant wait to see on friday, and you got your ticket online that Monday, or you have faith in your kids to make an A on their vocabulary test. Maybe you beleive strongly in your work. Religon gives us these things. The stories within the bible put things in perspective for many peple, some of which may not have an imagination. A good example of a far-fetched bible story would be Noah's Arc, (2 of every animal- would have to of traveled the continents first to collect them, as well as food and water for 40 days and 40 nights, THEN bring them back when its all over. Not to mention how long it would take to sail the Arc back and forth, find them, capture them, and feed them duriing collection, and prevent one species from eating another)
As young, its totaly amazing, and as a boy, what I got from that story was that even though something may seem impossible, like collecting 2 of every animal on earth and building an Arc to withstand 40 days and nights of ocean with little or no experience- It can be done even with the worst conditions...
It can mean that for many, or something else, like to have faith in yourself and your goals.
It is different for every one, but thats what it is to me.

As stated before, i dont follow any particular religion.
I see god as an all-knowing being, A scientist/chemest, responsible for all things. By being a good person, taking into consideration of others, basicly treating everyone as equals and respect them as well as their opinions, there is nothing to be afraid of after passing away.

He can be asked questions, and gives you answers in non-verbal riddles. He has a formula for every one of us, but it is fine if we want to make our own blend of our lives. Live your life with positive thinking and rid yourself of the negatives. Our lives would be more like heaven if we didnt complicate our peer's lives.

Thank you for reading this. It means a lot knowing you value my opinion enough to read it through. :)
